It could also limit the number of people who might be able to attend due to travel restrictions or time away from work.
Another example would be to only offer online learning options. This is great for those who want to learn on their own time, from any device. However, for those who would like the chance to network with their peers and meet some of their mentors face-to-face, they may not be fully satisfied with just online options.
Giving your members a variety of options also allows for them to design their own learning track. They may want to do short, quick videos on the way to work to maximize their time. The same person also might be interested in attending an in-person course to get to know some of the members and start building their professional network.
